Climbing & Trailing Houseplant Inspiration: Philodendron 'Brasil' Poles

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil'

This plant is the wild cultivar and sister of the classic green Sweetheart Philodendron. The 'Brasil' gets it

s name from its slight resemblance of the Flag of Brazil. We don't really see the resemblance, but let us know what you think!

Did You Know...

Growth Styles: This plant LOVES to grow.. It may grow up to 20 feet long and some of those styles include growing up a pole (as shown above), vining up a tree, and it will even trail to the ground, making a beautiful hanging basket!

Lighting: Due to its variegation this plant should avoid direct sunlight, but appreciates a filtered window to soak up the sunshine where it can showcase its best pops of color. However, the plant will begin to revert back to the classic green Sweetheart if placed in a lowlight setting.

Moisture & Watering: Adding humidity and a good watering after the top 2-3" have dried out will help this plant grow plentifully! You can add humidity to this plant environment by spraying the leaves or by keeping a pebble dish nearby.

Maturity: As this plant grows, many of the yellow shades will develop into lighter shades of yellow or even white.

We hope this feature focus helps you sell with confidence!
